Write for us
We welcome considered contributions about the everyday ties that shape community life. Send a concise proposal through the Contact page, with enough detail for us to understand the idea and the reader it would serve.
Ideas we welcome
Pitch clear, original pieces about shared places, gatherings, neighbourly exchange, belonging or local memory. Useful proposals may explain how a particular format works, compare two thoughtful ways of approaching a situation, or examine a custom without assuming it is universal. We are interested in focused subjects that readers can understand and use without specialist credentials.
What makes a strong pitch
Tell us the central question, your proposed angle and what a reader will take away. Explain why the subject suits Rising Community News, note any important limits or differing perspectives, and say whether the idea has appeared elsewhere. A concise outline is more helpful than a finished article attached without context. Please do not send private details about other people without their permission.
How to send it
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option, then describe your proposal in the message. We consider pitches for fit, clarity and distinctiveness. A proposal is not a promise of publication, and we may ask for changes before accepting a contribution.
Connection is made in small, repeatable acts
A spare chair, a remembered name or a useful skill shared without fuss can change how a place feels. We look closely at these ordinary ways people make room for one another.
